Traveling, Commuting and Trolleying: Get Connected at Santa Fe Depot

Aug 29, 2018

All aboard! Experience all access living at Savina by Bosa, luxury condominiums in downtown San Diego. Getting from here to there has never been easier.

Connecting to all that the region has to offer is as easy as a short stroll to nearby Santa Fe Depot. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this historic station has been a local transportation hub for over a century, with its architecture, particularly the signature twin domes, often echoed in the design of modern buildings in Downtown San Diego.

A true transportation hub, the Santa Fe Depot keeps San Diegans connected with a variety of transportation options such as Amtrak, the San Diego Coaster, the San Diego Trolley, and the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System bus system.

“One of my favorite things about downtown living, is the easy access to the Amtrak that commutes between downtown San Diego and San Luis Obispo county. My mother-in-law lives in Hollywood and quite often will take the train to visit her grandchildren for the weekend in San Diego rather than sit in the LA traffic.” – Jason Koverchuk, Savina Sales Director

Take a ride on the COASTER. This commuter train provides breathtaking coastal scenery as it runs north and south through San Diego County, serving eight stations between Oceanside and downtown San Diego. It takes about an hour to travel the entire COASTER route.

Jump on ‘The Trolley’ for daily jaunts or weekend excursions downtown. Enjoy a ballgame at Petco Park, enjoy an art exhibit in the Gaslamp Quarter or take in a show at the historic Horton Grand Theatre. The San Diego Trolley operates a light rail system downtown that has been running since 1981, making it the oldest of the "second generation" light rail systems in the United States.

Downtown is definitely on a roll. It’s always been easy to take a trolley to Balboa Park, a 10-minute stroll from the waterfront and Seaport Village. The new Mid-Coast Trolley Extension, will takes students and startup types from downtown to the University City community and back by 2021.
