Savina Spotlight: Property Specialist Erica Derby Dishes on Savina Culture
Building Downtown San Diego’s most anticipated new community is a team of highly skilled and trained individuals eager to bring their love for the city into this groundbreaking project. Among the Savina team is Erica Derby, a Savina Property Specialist and San Diego transplant who offers a unique perspective to the dedicated team. Her appreciation, commitment and love for the surrounding Savina neighborhood is seen in her day-to-day work and life. We caught up with Erica to learn a little bit more about her feelings about being part of the Savina community.
Erica recalls her first moments working on the sales team and how she instantly knew she was going to be part of something great. “Prior to beginning the Savina project we spent three days together for team building activities,” Erica explained. “We did a scavenger hunt around Little Italy to learn more about the community but to also connect and build a strong team together.”
The memorable experience resulted in strong relationships and bonds with coworkers, as well as a little friendly competition, ending with the losing team cooking dinner for the winning team.”
When asked about her favorite amenities at Savina, it was clear where Erica’s heart lies. She is particularly interested in two outdoor amenities. “The pet retreat,” she explained, “the outdoor space on the fifth floor is an awesome place for owners to meet, and to bring people together.” She also loves the indoor/outdoor yoga terrace that allows residents to work out in the beautiful open space. The new condominium amenities and features allow residents a chance to catch breathtaking views at different times throughout the day.
Residents will enjoy all of these common area amenities in addition to their luxury homes, which Erica says are out of this world. “I’m most enthused about home 3302 – it’s on the 33 floor, has a really open feeling, which provides stunning views of the city, the bay and airport… it’s unlike anything else.”
Aside from Savina’s breathtaking architecture and extensive amenities list, Erica says the luxury high-rise is approachable, which really stands out to her. “The energy of the people, camaraderie, and gathering is thrilling to watch,” she explained, “People will really grow together in this Savina community, it’s the inviting nature of the new home that will give it a neighborhood feel.”
Since joining the Savina team, she has generously spent her time wandering the Little Italy community only to discover her favorite dining gems around town. “One of my personal favorites is Civico 1845. The authentic restaurant has an inviting atmosphere, they greet everyone who walks through the door,” she explains, “and the food is always fresh and delicious!”
Her perfect weekend in Little Italy begins with a trip to the Little Italy Farmers Market Saturday morning to stock up her refrigerator with local, organic foods. Then Erica might meet some friends at Herb & Wood for a quick bite and catch up. “Other than that, I might spend the morning in Seaport Village” she professed, “at the dock there’s a bunch of fishing boats with fresh fish every Saturday morning so it’s key to get there early to beat the line!” Among it all, Erica’s passion for exploring and healthy eating is really what draws her to this area, “the location doesn’t get any better – close to Little Italy, diverse in this great energy and amazing lifestyle.”
Erica goes on to say that what she loves more than the unique condominium amenities is the people, “they are very real, wanting to connect and build a community with different activities – prioritizing relationships and the opportunities to meet neighbors.” She continues on to say “the community is the driving force behind the Savina brand, it’s what really sets Savina apart.”
