There are many types of mattresses, but one type that has both innerspring and memory foam characteristics. It is what we call the hybrid mattress.
Hybrid mattresses are multi-layer beds that combine memory foam, gel, latex or gel with an innerspring system. The hybrid mattress can have both the advantages and disadvantages of each bed, while still retaining the best qualities of each.
If you prefer a visual experience, this video review is from Corey Bryan, Becca Fair and Loren Bullock of Mattress Nerd’s YouTube channel. To get a comprehensive overview of Dreamcloud, you may still want to check out our article below, which compares it to some competitors.
What Makes a Hybrid Mattress Nest Vs Dreamcloud
Most hybrid mattresses are composed of a few components. These components are what make a hybrid mattress special. These are:
- Pillow Top: This is a layer that can be added to a variety of hybrids, but it is usually optional. This layer is usually 1-inch in height and is sewn onto the comfort layer to add cushioning.
- Comfort Layer: This could be considered as the bed’s main layer. It is where most :your your body lies down when using the bed. This is often made with cushioned components to ensure comfort.
Think: memory foam, latex, and cool-inducing gel. This gives the comfort it needs. The typical size is around 3 to 4 inches of body-hugging material.
- Support Core: The support core is usually what holds the height of the mattress which usually stands at about 7 to 8 inches. This is also where most of the pocket-wrapped coils and springs that provide spinal support are found.
In the end, this support core is where the foam and spring meet to make the hybrid mattress possible.
- Base layer: This layer is typically made of foam. This provides padding, support, added stability and sturdiness to the overall shape of the mattress.
Hybrid Mattresses: The Benefits
If they don’t have unique properties, it would not be logical to combine them into one bed. These are just a few of the many benefits hybrid beds offer.
- They are extremely comfortable.
The hybrid mattress is comfortable no matter what material they may be made of. The comfort layer of the hybrid mattress will provide support for your body, no matter what make it may be, whether it’s memory foam, latex or cooling gel.
These foam layers can be supportive for even heavier people (a common problem with foam-only mattresses).
This comfort can even be amplified if you select the perfect bed type for you. This includes stuff like firmness and bed performance. You might find your perfect bed, and you could soon be sleeping on top of the world.
- They are excellent for pain relief.
When buying or choosing a bed, one of the most important things you need to consider is its effect on pain and aches. These beds work well with hybrid beds.
Because of the combination of the comfort layer with the inner springs, hybrid mattresses can offer both pressure relief and comfort in one bed. Overall, they are a great combination for those suffering body pain.
- Everybody can find the right bed.
You can choose from soft beds for more comfort or a firmer mattress for more support. This is great because not everyone likes the same firmness.
And that is right, a bed’s firmness can add up to a bed’s overall comfort. Find a guid online to pick out which is perfect for you.
- Hybrid beds can be as supportive as possible.
The inner pocket springs of hybrids support your body as you lie down in it throughout the day. They even bear the load of the body’s heavier parts like the hips, shoulders and even stomachs for stomach sleepers.
- They can offer cooler sleep.
They provide support and keep you cool. Because the pocket springs are arranged in the support layers of hybrid beds, they allow for greater airflow than other types of beds. It’s only natural that hybrid beds provide cooler and better sleep.
While the inner springs are the ones doing the heavy lifting, other components can be used to provide this cooling sensation.
To help with the cooling effect of hybrid beds, cooling-gel material is used in some foam layers. To keep you cool, there are breathable covers and charcoal bamboo memories foam.
- A hybrid bed is available for you to sleep in.
Just as with the firmness level of hybrid mattresses, there are also a perfect bed for everyone regardless of their sleeping positions.
Whether they’re the type to sleep in many different positions as the time goes or they sleep strictly on one position only at a time, there is always an excellent bed that cater to your preferred support and comfort.
- Hybrid mattresses are able to isolate motion.
Hybrid mattresses are not the same as traditional spring mattresses, contrary to popular belief. Traditional sprung mattress are often than in an open coil manner, while the hybrid mattress uses pocket springs to support individual in.
This is because traditional spring mattresses don’t isolate motion well. Often, there is a “rolling together” occurring. What this means is that when one side feels pressure or movement the other side of the mattress will be affected too.
Hybrid mattresses, however, are very different. Because the pocket springs are distributed in a way that makes them distinct, hybrid mattresses are different. If one part of the bed feels pressure, the other part will not be affected.
The hybrid mattress is ideal for couples with different sleeping patterns. This is especially useful for couples who have one side that moves in bed, while the other half rests peacefully.
- You have more sleeping space
Hybrid beds can have more space than regular foam mattresses, even if they are the same size. This is because of what they call, “edge support”.
An edge support is the characteristic of a bed that determines how solid or strong a bed’s edges are. Beds with not so good edge support usually fold when these edges are sit upon. The opposite is also true.
Foam encapsulation, which is a firmer foam encasement, is used to create edge support. This foam encapsulation reinforces the outer edge of the bed and provides more sleeping space.
- Hybrid beds offer a more comfortable and peaceful sleep.
Good airflow, bigger sleeping space, good motion isolation, all these means one thing: there is less disturbance in your sleep. Once you pickup the best hybrid bed for you, you will get the most peaceful sleep you could ever have (of course, this includes sleeping in a peaceful environment too.
- Hybrid beds can be delivered and installed more quickly than traditional ones.
Most hybrid beds are sold in what we call a “bed-in-a-box” model. It is easy to order one online. Once it arrives in the mail, you can take it into your bedroom and then open the box to roll it out.
Some beds do need to expand but that only takes a bit of wait time before you can use the bed, otherwise, there is not much work to be done.
- You can test them before you keep them forever
Most hybrid mattresses are sold by online or internet mattress companies. These vendors often offer sleep trials. Customers can test mattresses for up to 3 days and return it if they are not satisfied.
Some even allow a swap for a different mattress. This is a great option for anyone who is shopping for a mattress, especially as mattress shopping can be quite time-consuming and expensive.

DreamCloud Mattress
A DreamCloud Overview
The DreamCloud mattress is a luxurious mattress at a great price. This high-quality hybrid mattress is unlike most other hybrid mattresses as it provides the best comfort you can get without trading in an arm or a leg.
The DreamCloud mattress is composed of a cashmere-blend covering, gel-infused memory foam and individually wrapped coils. DreamCloud mattresses are medium-firm hybrid mattresses, which provides a great balance of support and comfort for the sleeper.
DreamCloud Mattress Quick View
Material | Firmness | Trial Period | No Shipping Charge | Warranty | Price Range |
Hybrid | Firm | 365 NIghts | And Returns | Lifetime | $899-$1499 |
DreamCloud Firmness & Performance
- DreamCloud Firmness
The DreamCloud mattress is firmer that the average mattress when it comes to firmness. Bear in mind that this firmness is subjective and will depend on the body weight of the person who will be using the bed.
The pocketed springs found on the support layer are perfect enough to provide the perfect firmness that most sleepers are looking for. This is balanced by comfort layer made from the comfiest memory foam.
The DreamCloud mattress will provide the perfect firmness for most sleepers.
- DreamCloud on Body Pain
Good mattresses should provide the right balance between support and pressure relief. They should also be capable of providing the right amount pain relief as comfort providers. The DreamCloud mattress is just like this.
DreamCloud was so effective that my back felt supported while I lay flat on my stomach. The shoulder area too was feeling pretty good and I felt little to no pressure around the area
That said, I did find my hips not as comfortable as my back and shoulder. While I feel great, my hips are not as comfortable as my back or shoulder. It just felt a little too firm to be honest.
Overall, the DreamCloud Hybrid mattress does a great job of relieving pain and pressure on different parts of the body while you sleep.
- DreamCloud Temperature Regulation
DreamCloud is a leader in temperature control. Combining a gel-infused memory foam with breathable cover cools and pulls heat away from the mattress’ upper layer.
This cooling effect is also supported by coils in the bed that provide decent airflow. This is especially good news for sleepers who tend to get hot when they are sleeping. Due to these features, the bed can prevent these people from being too uncomfortable.
That said, all these cooling is neutralized by the natural heating properties of the memory foam layer. This makes it that the DreamCloud Mattress is neither a Warm bed to sleep on and a cold bed to sleep on. Rather, the DreamCloud mattress is temperature neutral.
Or, as Goldilocks would put it: “Just right!”
- DreamCloud Motion Isolation
Motion isolation is the bed’s ability to isolate motion to different parts of the bed. This is a feature that most hybrid mattresses excel at. This is due to how most hybrid beds are constructed.
In the case of the DreamCloud mattress, the quilted cover and layers of memory foam can absorb a reasonable amount of motion as people are moving on it. These beds are ideal for those who are constantly moving or have partners who are too mobile when they sleep.
Despite this, the mattress’ motion isolation is not perfect. Although the coiled springs are placed in a way that allows for better airflow, they still suffer from the same problems as innerspring mattresses.
Spring are naturally buoyant. This bounciness affects the bed and can be felt a little. That said, most of this motion is not noticeable enough to be deemed significant.
- DreamClound Sex
Last but not least, we can’t talk about mattress performance without mentioning its ability to support intimate times.
More often than not, mattresses that are good for sex are those that provide both responsiveness as well as comfort. A lot of hybrid mattresses are often preferred by couples as they usually provide both of these needs.
The DreamCloud is a high-quality sex product in terms of sex. It allows for movement while being comfortable for both the couple. It is thanks to the coils that add bounce to the mattress. As such it is very easy to move in.
The coils increase airflow throughout the mattress, which helps to dissipate heat. Even when these coils are prone to squeaking and creaking, the whole mattress is still relatively quiet.
The DreamCloud is a great bed for sex.
DreamCloud Prices and Size
The DreamCloud mattress, a luxury hybrid mattress with a low price, is as stated in the beginning. Thus, it is no surprise that it cost lower than most of the competition. However, this lower price does not mean that it is low quality. It is actually comparable or better than most mattresses on the market.
Note: The prices in this chart include: cooling pillow, sheet set, and mattress protector.

DreamCloud Mattress versus Nectar Mattress
A Nectar Mattress Overview
If you are looking for the most popular bed-in-a-box mattress brands, almost always Nectar will always pop up. The Nectar brand of mattresses are usually known for their all foam beds. However, they have recently added a hybrid mattress line with the Nectar Hybrid Mattress as its basic bed.
The first hybrid mattress they have created features the Nectar Classic Mattress, along with additional coils that add great quality to the already outstanding mattress. We will be comparing this to the competition.
Nectar Mattress Quick Look
Material | Firmness | Trial Period | No Shipping Charge | Warranty | Price range |
Hybrid | Medium Firm | 365 NIGHTS | Except HI, AK | Lifetime | $799 – $1738 |
Nectar Mattress Firmness & Performance
- Nectar Hybrid Classic Firmness
The Nectar Hybrid Classic’s firmness can be seen at a glance. If we convert this into a numerical value, the Nectar Hybrid would probably have a 6.5/10 grade. This is the industry standard for medium-firm mattresses. Nest Vs Dreamcloud
Of course this grade comes at no surprise especially since the original mattress is among the softest memory foam mattresses available in the market.
The first two layers are made up of foam that provides the soft comfort that memory foam lovers know so well. When you sink deeper in the mattress, you can feel the firmness put about by the support layer.
Overall, the Nectar Classic Hybrid provides a good balance of comfort and support.
- Nectar Hybrid Classic for Body Pain
The Nectar Hybrid Classic does a great job in relieving body pain. Its softness allows for little pressure to be felt in the hips, back, shoulder, and neck, especially for back sleepers.
However, the same may not bode well for stomach and side sleepers. Although it’s not serious, the bed seems to be unable to support the hip pressure when lying sideways. This could be a problem in the long-term.
Strictly side and back sleepers might do well to look at firmer mattress instead of this one.
- Nectar Hybrid Classic on Temperature Regulation
When it comes to regulating temperature, the Nectar hybrid classic seems to do well compared to all-foam mattresses.
The Nectar model is particularly heat-resistant because the memory foam layers of this model aren’t nearly as thick and body-confirming. The added gel infusion as well as the breathable covers also do a lot of overtime work to keep heat retention low. Nest Vs Dreamcloud
There are also pocketed coils. This layer of pocketed coils are probably the secret for its temperature regulation abilities. This layer allows for more airflow that the dense polyfoam Nectar mattresses are famous for.
Overall, hot sleepers would find a lot of comfort with the Nectar Hybrid Classic with its excellent temperature regulation especially compared to most hybrid and all-foam models.
- Nectar Hybrid Classic on Motion Isolation
For people who share a bed with others (i.e. For people who share a bed with others (i.e., significant others or family members), it’s important that the bed has good motion isolation to ensure a peaceful and restful sleep.
Oftentimes, hybrid mattresses don’t do so well in this department. Especially given how much coiled core tends to permit greater motion transfer. It is not surprising that the Nectar Hybrid Classic achieves above-average motion isolation.
The memory foam and polyfoam layers seem to do a lot of heavy lifting here. The dense nature of the layers absorbs excess movement from springs and stops them from reaching the opposite side. These coils are also able to move independently from one another.
- Nectar Hybrid Classic for Sex
The Nectar Hybrid Classic also has excellent rating and performs well on areas that refer to sex. Nest Vs Dreamcloud
It has solid edges that support couples so they have as much space as possible while they do the deed. It’s also strong enough to give you plenty of traction.
The comfort layer of memory provides pressure relief and helps to ease tension in the hips, shoulders, knees and hips. The mattress’s responsive surface allows for quick and easy positioning changes.
The Hybrid Classic is a quiet bed. Couple that with excellent temperature regulation, and you got a bed that is perfect for making love.
Nectar Mattress Sizes and Prices
Compared to similar hybrids in the market, The Nectar Classic Hybrid is priced competitively. Hybrids are generally more expensive than all-foam mattresses due to the way they are designed. As such, The Nectar Hybrid Classic is up to there in terms of price point.
Sizes | Dimensions | Height | Weight | Price |
Twin | 38″ x75″ | 12″ | 67 lbs. | $799 |
Twin XL | 38″ x80″ | 12″ | 70 lbs. | $869 |
Full | 54″ x 75″. | 12″ | 90 lbs. | $1099 |
Queen | 60″ x80″ | 12″ | 105 lbs. | $1199 |
King | 76″ x 80″ | 12″ | 128 lbs. | $1,449 |
Cal King | 72″ x 64″ | 12″ | 127 lbs. | $1,449 |
Split King | 38″ x80″ | 12″ | 70 lbs. | $1,738 |
Nectar mattress Recommendations
The Nectar Classic Hybrid is Recommended For:
- Back sleepers will get a lot of mileage with the Nectar Classic Hybrid especially with a lot of features that fit these kinds of sleepers.
- Couples who appreciate a solid edge support, cooling components as well as excellent motion isolation properties.
- Lighter Side sleepers who will find the bed softer than the usual hybrid mattresses.
The Nectar Classic Hybrid is Not Recommended For:
- Strict stomach sleepers, especially those on the heavier side will find the Nectar Hybrid Mattress too soft. The mattress might not support their posture and could cause problems in the long-term.

DreamCloud versus Saatva
The Saatva Mattress Overview
Saatva is another company you can usually hear when looking for popular bed-in-a-box brands. They are well-known for their luxury and high-end mattresses. One of their most well known mattresses is the Zenhaven which is an all-latex mattress. Nest Vs Dreamcloud
In the hybrid mattress department, Saatva’s first foray is the aptly named Saatva latex Hybrid Mattress. It includes a thick layer of Talalay Latex latex and an organic cotton cover.
In terms of dimensions, The Saatva Latex Hybrid measures 12 inches thick with a medium feel. You can find it in all sizes and at the right price.
Is the Saatva Latex Mattress something for You? Continue reading.
Saatva Mattress Quick View
Material | Firmness | Trial Period | Free Shipping | Warranty | Price range |
Latex hybrid | Medium Firm | 365 NIghts | White Glove Delivery | Lifetime | $1,245 – $2,830 |
Saatva Mattress Firmness and Performance
- Saatva Mattress Firmness
The Saatva Latex Hybrid is a firm selection on the market in terms of firmness. The Saatva Latex Hybrid will score about 7.5 on a scale of 10 firmness.
This measurement allows us to classify the Saatva Mattress Hybrid as a medium-firm mattress. This body type is not uncommon and it can be difficult to find a mattress that supports their back.
However, remember that firmness is subjective. WHat is irm for others might not be firm to you. So choosing a mattress or bed should not just fall into looking at its firmness.
- Saatva Mattress for Body Pain
How a mattress handles pressure around your body can give you an indication of how well it relieves pain when you are sleeping on it. The Saatva Hybrid Mattress seems to provide excellent pressure relief for those weighing between 130 and 230 pounds.
For heavier people, the Saatva mattress provides enough support. The latex comfort layer offers a cushioning effect for side sleepers, and can help alleviate pain in the hips and shoulders. The mattress also promotes spine alignment which is plus in my book. Nest Vs Dreamcloud
However, this does not apply to people of different weights. Saatva Latex Hybrid may be too stiff for some people who are lighter. This is particularly true for side sleepers.
In terms of the body’s region, IIt seems that the Saatva Hybrid mattress does wonders in providing a comfortable and supportive feel at the back area. Of course, we’ve already talked about how the Saatva handles side sleepers and shoulder relief
That brings us to the hips and to hip pain in general. The Saatva Mattress is able to support the hip area and keep the hips and shoulders aligned for stomach and back sleepers. However, side sleepers who have hip pain might need a firmer bed with extra support.
- Saatva Mattress on Temperature Regulation
The Saatva Hybrid Mattress regulates temperature naturally. It will come to no surprise that the mattress will sleep cool. This is due to the way that the mattress was made.
Latex is already naturally cooling. Latex does not retain body heat in the same way as foam. However, the Saatva Mattress goes beyond by making the latex comfort layer ventilated with small holes. This allows for hair to flow through the bed while you sleep.
Then the organic cotton cover and wool fire barrier are also manufactured with breathability in mind. Add this to the coil system and you got a bed that is able to maintain a cool core temperature. Nest Vs Dreamcloud
- Saatva Mattress Motion Isolation
In the case of motion isolation, most hybrid mattresses are expected to either not do as well or do a decent enough job. Such is the case of the Saatva Latex Hybrid Mattress.
Looking at the Saatva Latex Hybrid Mattress, it has a really high motion transfer. This is because of its make. It is a combination the latex material with the pocketed coils that gives it its bounciness
As good as the Saatva latex hybrid mattress is, it would not be good for couples who tend to move a lot in bed. If you sleep with someone who moves a lot, there will be disruption to your sleep.
- Saatva Mattress on Sex
When it comes to sex, the Saatva Latex Hybrid Mattress is an excellent bed to do it in. The latex build offers bounce and responsiveness . Couples will not feel trapped in the mattress due to this level of bounce.
The mattress is also good at allowing movement which gives freedom to the couple in their intimate moments. The latex is a little flexible and conforms to your body, which gives you the ability to stay in one place for longer periods. Nest Vs Dreamcloud
The only negative thing about the Saatva when it comes to sex is the coils tend to be louad, which makes it a bit distracting.
Saatva Mattress Sizes and Prices
While at first glance, the Saatva Latex Hybrid price point might seem more expensive than the previously mentioned mattress. This is actually comparable to the average price of similar-made hybrid mattresses.
Latex beds are not really cheap, and this is the crux of Saatva’s higher price.
Sizes | Dimensions | Height | Weight | Price |
Twin | 38″ x 75″ | 12″ | 70 lbs. | $1,245 |
Twin XL | 38″ x80″ | 12″ | 85 lbs. | $1,415 |
Full | 54″ x 75″. | 12″ | 100 lbs. | $1,845 |
Queen | 60″ x 80″ | 12″ | 120 lbs. | $2,045 |
King | 76″ x80″ | 12″ | 150 lbs. | $2,445 |
Cal King | 72″ x 64″ | 12″ | 148 lbs. | $2,445 |
Split King | (2) 36″ x80″ | 12″ | 170 lbs. | $2,830 |
Saatva Mattress Recommendations
The Saatva Latex Hybrid is Recommended For:
- People who are fans of an eco-friendly mattress and mattresses that are build from organic materials.
- People who sleep hot need a bed that is able to cool them down. These people will appreciate the Saatva’s cooling abilities.
- These are stomach sleepers who seek a bed that offers more support.
- People who sleep on a responsive mattress prefer something that conforms to their bodies but doesn’t sink too much.
- Shoppers who want a mattress that is assembled by others, but not by them.
The Saatva Latex Hybrid is NOT Recommended For:.
- Luxury hybrid mattress buyers who are looking for a low- or high-quality mattress
- People who want a sinking sensation and a slower-moving mattress
- Side sleepers who are strict and need support while they sleep on their side all night
DreamCloud versus Purple
A Purple Mattress Overview
Another Internet mattress company that is well known and recognizable by almost everybody is Purple Mattress. They are famous for their iconic Hyper-Elastic Polymer purple grid which is applied in all their mattress products.
They now have the Purple Hybrid Premier and Purple Hybrid Hybrid hybrid mattresses. By using their signature Purple grid and adding springy layers of pocketed coils, they aim to provide a hybrid comfort experience. Nest Vs Dreamcloud
We will be focusing on the Purple Hybrid for the purposes of this article.
Quick Look at Purple Mattress
Material | Firmness | Trial Period | Free Shipping | Warranty | Price range |
Hybrid | Medium firm | 100 Nights | Yes | 10-years | $2,499 – $4,998 |
Purple Mattress Firmness & Performance
- Purple Mattress Firmness
Due to the unique top layer, it is difficult to pinpoint the Purple Hybrid’s exact position on the firmness scale. Some people find it soft, while some place it at a medium firm.
If we put it on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being the softest, it might be at 6.5 to 7. With that said, it is a good choice for most people regardless of their sleeping style or body type.
Aside from firmness, this would be a good place to mention how the Purple Mattress feels. Many people will find its top layer quite interesting due to its unusual construction.
To describe it objectively, this has a gel-like feel that is also very stretchy and soft. Such a feeling is of course going to be polarizing as some sleepers will prefer the more traditional innerspring or memory foam beds.
It takes me a few nights to get used to the top layer of the mattress, but it does eventually grow on me. The bed will feel compressed and mold to your body.
This might sound uncomfortable, but it really isn’t. It is actually very comfortable, and you feel like you’re floating.
- Purple Mattress on Body Pain
As stated above, the Purple Hybrid mattress will contour very well to a sleeper’s body. This feature actually helps in relieving pressure and dissipating body pain due to the layer distributing the sleeper’s weight more evenly across the mattress.
It is also very easy for the Purple Grid to buckle when pressure is applied. The firm feel then helps the mattress remain supportive. Side sleepers will find this a good thing as it allows their hips to sink in and promotes spinal alignment.
What makes this pressure relief experience unique is that unlike the memory foam, the mattress gives a “floating” experience instead of being hugged by it.
- Purple Mattress on Temperature Regulation
Controlling temperature and keeping it neutral is among Purple Hybrid Mattresses’ edge against the competition.
Due to the unique design of the Purple Hybrid, it doesn’t succumb to the common problem most foam comfort layers have of trapping heat against a sleepers body. Instead, Purple hybrid allows heat to escape and keep sleepers cool throughout the night.
The Purple mattress also has a breathable cover which allows significant airflow into the mattress. This allows heat to dissipate away from the sleeper’s body through the open air channels.
Additional air is also drawn in by the coil core, which cools the body further and pulls heat away from the sleeping person. Nest Vs Dreamcloud
- Purple Mattress for Motion Isolation
Purple Hybrid mattresses have an average level of motion isolation. These phenomena can be explained in detail.
Purple Grid, which is located in the comfort layer of your mattress, helps to reduce motion. The way it is designed limits motion from traveling across the bed.
However, the bounciness of the springs actually neutralizes this. In fact, the coils are so bouncy that it can be felt until the top layer of the bed. Which can be pretty distracting from a good night’s sleep.
The Purple mattress has a neutral effect in motion isolation. For people sharing the bed with others, they will feel the motion of their bed mates but it won’t be as 3distracting. However, huge motions like going in and going off the bed can easily be felt.
It is not recommended for people who are sensitive to sudden movements and need peaceful sleep.
- Purple Mattress on Sex
On the basis of sex, the Purple Hybrd mattress does a pheomenal job at giving the best experience for couples. Of course, this is par for the course with most hybrid mattresses.
Most foam mattress are beneficial to sex as they usually provide gooud bounce. The couple can have a great time while they do their thing. The contouring foam helps to create traction and provides enough comfort for the body within the comfort layer.
This is due to the inner coil of the bed. Not only that, but these coils also provide the bed with enough support to create good edge support for bigger usable space.
Prices and sizes for Purple Mattresses
Purple Hybrid mattresses are very affordable for hybrid mattresses. It will be more expensive than the standard Purple Hybrid mattress. CUriously, the Purple hybrid does not carry a twin sized bed. The Purple Hybrid’s Twin XL bed is the smallest.
Sizes | Dimensions | Height | Weight | Price |
Twin | N/A | N/A | N/A | N/A |
Twin XL | 38″ x80″ | 12″ | 91 lbs. | $2,499 |
Full | 54″ x 76″ | 12″ | 125 lbs. | $2,699 |
Queen | 60″ x80″ | 12″ | 145 lbs. | $3,599 |
King | 76″ x 80″ | 12″ | 176 lbs. | $3,599 |
Cal King | 72″ x 84″ | 12″ | 176 lbs. | $3,599 |
Split King | 36″ x 80″ (2pcs) | 12″ | 2 pcs. 91 lbs | $4,998 |

DreamCloud versus Casper
A Casper Overview
Casper mattress was established in 2014. Casper mattress was founded in 2014. They have created many mattress models since their inception.
Casper Original is their flagship model, an all-foam version. They also improved this with the Casper Original Hybrid which features a coil core. Aside from that, they also have a line of luxury hybrid mattresses which include the Wave Hybrid and the Nova Hybrid.
In this review, we will be talking about their Original hybrid. The original hybrid is composed of three layers of Casper foam, but the coil support layer was replaced by the polyfoam core. This tiny change in construction makes a big difference in the overall performance of the bed.
Casper Mattress Quick View
Material | Firmness | Trial Period | Free Shipping | Warranty | Price range |
Hybrid | Medium firm | 100 Nights | Yes | Limited 10-year warranty | $695 – $1,495 |
Casper Mattress Firmness and Performance
- Casper Mattress Firmness
Casper mattresses are easy to recognize as medium-firm mattresses if you lay down on them for a while. It scores a 6.5 on a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being the softest and 10 the firmest.
This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Most hybrid beds in competition fall within this range. This bed strikes a great balance between supporting and relieving pressure. Of course, this balance is thanks to a combination of foams and the pocketed coils that make up the bed.
The bed allows just enough softness to alleviate tension at the relevant parts of the shoulder and hips without them having to dip out of alignment from the rest of the body.
This medium firmness also works in the favor of the bed as there are a lot of sleepers who prefer this firmness level.
- Casper Mattress for Body Pain
Talking about the Casper Hybrid’s pressure relief capabilities, it seems that it offers more pressure relief than many hybrid models. This is thanks to the original Casper mattress which already has a good reputation in relieving pressure.
It uses the same two-layer comfort system as the original Casper Mattress. This cradles and distributes the weight of the sleeper to alleviate pressure points.
For extra support, the zoned memory foam layer is added to the mattress’ midsection. It provides additional support in the area of the sleeper’s midsection. Overall, this gives the sleeper better contouring and support while also making sure of the spine alignment.
- Casper Mattress Temperature Regulation
It is already common knowledge that most hybrid mattress models have better airflow compared to their foam counterparts. This is mostly thanks to the coiled springs in the support layer that adds much needed airflow to “hotter” bed models.
The Casper Hybrid is no different. It has a perforated polyfoam top layer that conforms to the sleeper’s body while allowing airflow to escape and preventing it from being trapped.
Then there is a layer of zoned memory foam that countrous without trapping as much heat as most high-density memory foams. Furthermore, there is the aforementioned council support layer that allows air to circulate easily. Nest Vs Dreamcloud
This hybrid mattress is cool to lay down on.
- Casper Mattress Motion Isolation
Unsurprisingly, the Casper Hybrid mattress has excellent motion isolation. Bear in mind that this bed has almost the exact same construction as the original foam model. This bed also excels at this task, as it is similar to the original foam model in preventing movement across the bed.
The bed also jas a two-layer comfort system that absorbs which helps prevent movement and vibrations from traveling across the surface of the bed. The polyfoam top layer has a slightly bouncy feel while reducing motion transfer, and the memory foam layer also absorbs motion,
This mattress’s strong motion isolation helps reduce nighttime disturbances, especially when there are bedmates that move about the mattress. This mattress might be the right choice for light sleepers or those who wake up frequently.
- Casper Mattress for Sex
Compared to many all-foam models, the Casper Hybrid mattress is more conductive to sexual activities. However, compared to other hybrid models, the Casper Hybrid lags behind others in this feature.
Sadly, the Casper mattress lacks some bounce and springiness that couples often expect in most hybrid and inner spring models.
All hope is not lost though as the close conforming nature of the Casper Hybrid does improve traction. The Casper Hybrid mattress is virtually silent which reduces distractions and makes it ideal for secretly falling in love.
Casper Mattress Prices and Sizes
The Casper Hybrid mattress comes in at a lower price point than average for quality hybrid models. This makes it among the few hybrid models that is affordable at a value. For budget minded shoppers, this makes it a strong option as it is a luxury mattress at a very low price

WinkBed Mattress Firmness & Performance
- WinkBed Mattress Firmness
The firmness of WinkBed is not something we can discuss unless we acknowledge that there are three levels to it. There are three firmness levels: Softer, Luxury Firm (which they most often choose), Firmer, and Plus
That said, all of these mattresses share the same innerspring or pillowtop feel. On a scale from 1-10, each level of firmness would be classified as follows: Softer (4/10), Luxury FIrm (6/10), Firm (7/10), Plus (8/10).
Tha]t said, the firmness will still vary from person to person. There are a lot of factors that determine the firmness of your choice. A good guide should include an area which can guide customers with their choices.
Here are some quick suggestions:
Softer option if you are a heavy side sleeper.
Luxury firm, if you prefer sleeping in your back or you are a lightweight stomach sleeper.
If you’re a stomach sleeper, it will be more firm.
If your weight exceeds 300 pounds, you will be eligible for an additional fee.
To find the right mattress firmness, consider your body weight and your sleeping habits.
- WinkBed Mattress on Body Pain
In terms of Body Pain and Pressure relief, the WinkBed is like many hybrid models where its contouring can help relieve a sleeper’s pressure points.
For the first three versions of the mattress, (Softer, Luxury Firm, and Firmer) they have a pillow top and a layer of polyfoam to cradle the sleeper. This cover is designed to help distribute the body’s weight and alleviate pressure.
The PLUS version has a polyfoam layer and latex layer for contouring. These divide the jobs on pressure relief: the latex spreads the body weight over a wider surface area while the polyfoam cushions the pressure points.
Latex can be used to create a feeling of floating in bed, which is a benefit for some sleepers. It also prevents pressure buildup.
Furthermore, al the firmness options have their coil core zoned out. This allows for more targeted support and less risk of the hips of the sleeper sinking in. This is good for keeping the spring aligned.
- WinkBed Mattress on Temperature Regulation
The WinkBed Mattress shares the same breathable and cool bed characteristics with other hybrid mattresses. They are ideal for those who sleep hot all night.
In the case of the WinkBed mattress, all versions come with a Tencel cover, a material that pulls heavy away from the sleeper’s body for a cooler night’s sleep. Nest Vs Dreamcloud
The first three pillow tops are made of gel-infused polyfoam. This redistributes boddy instead of trapping it. Meanwhile, the PLUS version uses a layer of polyfoam and a layer of latex.
This polyfoam is more breathable than memory foam and will not trap a lot of heat in the sleeper’s body. Also, the latex has an open-cell structure which makes air circulation very much possible.
Lastly, the coil core allows for more air circulation which adds more to the cooling mattress.
- WinkBed Mattress on Motion Isolation
Judging the WinkBed in terms of motion isolation is kind of tricky. With different firmness versions, the bed in turn will differ in their motion isolation values.
That said, all versions have better motion isolation than other hybrid models in the market. The Softest option in particular does excellent in this category.
The Softer, Luxury Firm, and Firmer options have Euro-style pillow tops with multiple layers as polyfoam. These are the secret to the beds great motion isolation features. These features reduce vibrations that travel across the mattress’ surface.
The coils also move independently which makes it hard for vibrations to travel. That said, the Softer version also absorbs more motion than the other firmness because of its soft feel as well as an added transition layer of polyfoam.
Meanwhile, the PLUS version, which has a poly foam and latex comfort layers do absorb a huge amount of motion, but it is not as absorbent as the Softer version.
The coil cores have been designed in such a way that the mattress still has some bounce but restricts motion. This is combined with the mattress’ comfort system, which is large enough to reduce motion.
- WinkBed Mattress for Sex
Each of the four mattress versions offer advantages for couples. However, they are not the same. The WinkBed Mattress Plus is the most suitable for sex. Nest Vs Dreamcloud
It swaps out the second foam layer with a latex layer that is quite responsive. This allows for easier movement when changing positions.
On the opposite side, the the Softer option has the least benefits when it comes to sex. People sink in deeper, which makes it more difficult to move around. That said, it still is conductive to sex due to the bouncy nature of the WinkBed Mattress.
WinkBed Mattress Sizes and Prices
Surprisingly, despite being a luxury hybrid model, the WinkBed Mattress comes at a lower price than the average hybrid model. It is an exceptional value for shoppers as it is manufactured from mostly high-quality materials.
Another surprising thing with this mattress is that it the three versions of Softer, Luxury Firm, and Firmer version are priced the same. The PLUS option is available at an additional cost.

Puffy vs DreamCloud
A Puffy Overview
Puffy Mattress is a highly-rated mattress brand that stands with the best. They are mostly known for their accommodating feel, price and firmness level. Currently, they produce three mattresses: the Puffy, The Puffy Lux Hybrid, and the Puffy Royal hybrid.
Their hybrid mattress has coil-boised support systems. The focus of this section, which is the Lux Hybrid, represents a good middle ground for shoppers looking for extra features at a more affordable price. Nest Vs Dreamcloud
The Lux Hybrid is made up of six layers and they were especially created to provide adaptive support and contouring. So we should expect high scores on those parts for this mattress.
Puffy Mattress Quick View
Material | Firmness | Trial Period | No Shipping Charge | Warranty | Price range |
Hybrid | Medium firm | 101 Nights | Yes | Lifetime | $1,149 – $1,699 |
Puffy Mattress Firmness & Performance
- Puffy Mattress Firmness
The Puffy Mattress has a medium firm feel. This can be converted to a 6.5/10 using numerical ratings.
Even though the mattress has springs at the bottom, the comfort layers still feel slow moving. As such, people looking for softer beds might find the firmness of this bed just enough. This softness doesn’t even need to trade in the support it really needs.
Puffy Lux is a great choice for side and back sleepers. It has just enough balance of softness and support which alleviate pain on most pressure points found in the body.
- Puffy Mattress on Body Pain
In terms of pressure relief, the Puffy Lux Hybrids has thick layers of memory foam and polyfoam that gets the job done.
The memory foam layer is known for its pressure relieving characteristics. They contour the body and cushion the hips and shoulders to help keep the body, especially the spine aligned. Nest Vs Dreamcloud
However, the Puffy mattress wouldn’t be as good if it was just a mixture of cushion and puff. This hybrid mattress is just right for providing a balance between comfort and support.
However, heavier sleepers, especially those weighing more than 230 pounds may prefer a firmer mattress.
- Temperature Regulation Puffy Mattress
The Puffy Lux Hybrid mattress’s base was close-conforming memory foam. It is not surprising that the mattress does not manage temperature well. This is actually the main problem with the Puffy Mattress.
In fact, it is one of the few Hybrid mattresses that hot sleepers should avoid.
The Memory foam typically traps heat and even though the Puffy Lux hybrid has gel infusions to reduce heat retention, these are not enough to really neutralize the bed’s heat.
- Puffy Mattress for Motion Isolation
Although it is not very good at controlling temperature, the Puffy Lux hybrid does a great job at keeping motion away. Because of the foam in the mattress, motion transfer across the surface is difficult because it’s very hard to feel.
Despite this, some motion is still transferred by the coil support base. However, the foam wins these vibrations over motions.
The Puffy Lux Hybrid mattress is ideal for those who have sensitive skin and want a more comfortable hybrid bed.
- Puffy Mattress on Sex
Having sex on the Puffy mattress is not really conducive. In fact, some might find the experience rather disappointing. Mattresses and beds that are good for sex are usually those with good bounce and response. Nest Vs Dreamcloud
This is what the Puffy Mattress does.
The Puffy Lux Hybrid is slow in returning to its original form. This makes the people using the mattress feel stuck especially when shifting positions or even getting out of bed.
The mattress’s pocketed coils, just like the airflow issues, are not sufficient to allow for good sex.
Puffy Mattress Prices and Sizes
The Puffy Lux Hybrid is a mattress that falls between the middle and lower end of the market. As such, it is a good option for those budget-conscious shoppers in the market. You can also find it in six standard sizes.
Sizes | Dimensions | Height | Weight | Price |
Twin | 39″ x 75″ | 12″ | 45 lbs. | $1,149 |
Twin XL | 39″ x80″ | 12″ | 49 lbs. | $1,199 |
Full | 54″ x 75″. | 12″ | 63 lbs. | $1,299 |
Queen | 60″ x80″ | 12″ | 75 bs. | $1,499 |
King | 76″ x80″ | 12″ | 95 lbs. | $1,699 |
Cal King | 72″ x 64″ | 12″ | 95 lbs. | $1,699 |
Recommendations for Puffy Mattresses
The Puffy Mattress is recommended for:
- Couples who want a bed that is motion-isolated. This mattress’ memory foam comfort layer ensures that your partner will not tossing and turning at night. It also provides a peaceful, comfortable sleep.
- People who love beds that feel soft, airy, and full of memory foam.
- Side sleepers looking for ample pressure relief
- People looking for a cheaper luxury hybrid mattress.
The Puffy Mattress is NOT recommended for:
- Shoppers searching for a bed under $1,000
- People who are looking for firmer mattresses, particularly heavier sleepers, and those who prefer to sleep on their stomachs.
- Sleepers looking for a cooler bed. The Puffy Lux Hybrid hybrid is an uncommon example of a hybrid mattress with poor temperature regulation. Nest Vs Dreamcloud
DreamCloud versus Tempurpedic
A Tempurpedic Overview
Tempurpedic is a pioneer in mattress technology. They were created by NASA scientists in 1992. Their TEMPUR foam is well known to adjust to body pressure and provide above average cushioning and contouring.
Although they have produced many mattress models over the years, this article will focus on the TEMPUR Cloud Hybrid. It offers a similar feel to the all-foam TEMPUR Cloud mattress. This mattress has more than 1,000 coils in the support core.
This affects the mattress’ overall quality. Find out more below.
Tempurpedic Mattress Quick Look
Material | Firmness | Trial Period | Free Shipping | Warranty | Price Range |
Hybrid | Medium | 90 Nights | Yes | 10-years | $1,699 – $3,398 |
Tempurpedic Mattress Firmness and Performance
- Firmness of Tempurpedic Mattresses
The TEMPUR-Cloud hybrid mattress comes at a medium firmness. Though some might argue that it is at a medium firm. It is subjective and the individual’s perception of firmness will determine how it feels. Bigger persons will find it softer, while smaller person, feel the opposite.
That said, the top layer of this hybrid mattress provides a good deal of comfort while remaining to be supportive. Tempurpedic uses a high density type of foam as the top layer of its mattress. It doesn’t necessarily mean it can’t support your body. It is capable of supporting the body of the sleeper, which is quite surprising.
Overall, the firmness of this mattress makes for a very comfortable back sleeping experience. It offers excellent contouring and hugs the body snugly for an excellent sleep.
- Tempurpedic Mattress on Body Pain
This mattress contours to the body perfectly, as we mentioned. What we didn’t say is that this mattress is also very good at cradling the sleeper especially at high-pressure spots of the hips and shoulders.
These are the characteristics that make the TEMPUR cloud hybrid so effective in relieving pain in these areas and keeping the spine aligned throughout its use.
The mixture of pressure-reducing foam and the responsive coils just encourages good posture evento side sleepers of different body types.
Even back and stomach sleepers of the lighter build will find themselves enjoying a reduced pressure and adequate support in this mattress.
- Temperature Regulation and Tempurpedic Mattress
Now, Tempurpedic is known for its advances in memory foam technology. In fact, they are a pioneer at it. It seems that this technology is not able to control temperature.
This problem finds itself affecting the TEMPUR-cloud Hybrid mattress. Since memory foam is characteristically known for trapping and absorbing heat, expect this bed to not be a cool bed to sleep on. Nest Vs Dreamcloud
That’s just it. The memory foam’s ability to cradle the body and trap heat makes it great for heat retention.
It gets very little cooling from the support core coils, which encourage airflow. However, these coils are not sufficient to reduce heat retention and even neutralize the hybrid bed’s heat.
People who really love the memory foam of TEMPUR pedic will find that they can only have their bedroom air conditioner at maximum so they can sleep cool.
- Tempurpedic Mattress Motion Isolation
Many foam beds are very motion-isolating. This is also true for TEMPUR cloud hybrid bed. It is actually excellent at it.
Two layers of TEMPUR memory foam are incorporated into the bed to absorb all movement. This means that no matter how your partner or bed mate moves in their sleep, it would be next to impossible to feel it.
- Tempurpedic Mattress on Sex
The TEMPUR-cloud hybrid is just decent bed to have sex in. It isn’t too bad, and it isn’t too good.
Although the memory foam may not be responsive and bouncy, the coils within the support layer compensate and give just enough oomph for sexy times.
The bed is also relatively quiet so that there are no annoying squeaky sounds while you have sex. Except, of course, if participants choose to do it.
Tempurpedic Mattress Prices and Sizes
Those who are already a patron of Tempurpedic mattresses will find that the TEMPUR-cloud hybrid mattress is as affordable as the regular TEMPUR-cloud mattress. It is actually one of the most affordable beds in TEMPUrR’s range. Nest Vs Dreamcloud
Overall, this makes the TEMPUR-cloud hybrid a moderately priced hybrid bed.

DreamCloud versus Helix
A Helix Overview
Helix is a direct to consumer mattress company. It is well-known for its sleep quiz that helps customers find the best mattress based on what they answer on the said quiz. These questions usually involve a customer’s weight, sleeping position, and personal preference.
Product wise, Helix has seven main models. These are Helix Sunset and Helix Moonlight, which are the softest models. There is also the Helix Midnight and Helix Dusk, which are medium-sized models. Lastly, there is the Helix Twilight, Helix Dawn, and the Helix Plus which are their firmest models
Each model comes in two types: a Luxe version and a normal version. For better spinal alignment, the Luxe version often includes an optional zoned support for the coil system. Furthermore, it has a quilted pillow top for a more plush feel. This upgrade ups the warranty into 15-years instead of 10.
This section will focus on the Helix Midnight hybrid model, which is a medium-sized model. Here we will know how it performs against most of its competition and if it live up to the hype.
Helix Mattress Quick View
Material | Firmness | Trial Period | No Shipping Charge | Warranty | Price range |
Hybrid | Medium firm to firm | 100 Nights | Yes | 10-years | $799 – $2,499 |
Helix Mattress Firmness & Performance
- Helix Mattress Firmness
Helix’s Midnight model is one its medium-firmness mattresses. That said, a lof of sleepers find this bed at a medium-firm to medium-soft. This firmness can be subjective, and will depend on the individual’s weight and body type.
In terms of feel, the model has a nice bouncy feel thanks mostly to its hybrid construction. It is very easy to roll and move on. This bed is a great combination of comfort and support. Nest Vs Dreamcloud
- Helix Mattress on Body Pain
In terms of body pain and pressure relief in general, the Helix midnight does a great job at relieving pressure at the lower back. Pressure relief is made easier by the Helix midnight’s smoother surfaces.
For those who do not have enough pressure relief, the optional Luxe version does a better job thanks to the addition that adds more support and pressure relief to the back area.
It strikes a great balance between support and pressure relief. Side sleepers may find it too soft, and might opt for firmer models.
- Helix Mattress on Temperature Regulation
In terms of Temperature regulation, the Helix Midnight mattress sleeps at temperature neutral.
This is due to the memory foam material, which we all know has the ability to keep heat throughout the night and sleep hot. With that said, the coil cores do a great job in keeping air flow consistent.
This is why the mattress’ heat retention is neutralized and kept at a balance state. Without this core coil layer, the Helix Midnight would probably be another mattress that would sleep pretty hot.
- Helix Mattress Motion Isolation
When it comes to motion isolation, the Helix Midnight does an okay job at it. It does have a layer of memory foam that dampens movement and slows down motion from moving across the surface.
It also features a responsive coil layer which facilitates movement. Light sleepers can be disturbed easily. However, huge motions may be enough to disturb sleep.
- Helix Mattress on Sex
The Helix Mattress is very good at handling sex. It strikes a good balance of being responsive while being soft and comfortable too. Hence, it is not too restrictive, while it is also not too bouncy.
That said, the Helix Midnight does not really have a strong enough edge support, that means couples will not be able to use the whole surface of the bed to have their fun. However, this does not mean they will not enjoy having sex on the mattress. Nest Vs Dreamcloud
Helix Mattress Prices and Sizes
In terms of pricing, the Helix mattress is competitively priced. It costs less than the average hybrid models, however it is not too cheap to be called a value mattress. The Helix mattress is affordable for those who have a decent income.
