There are many types of mattresses, but one type that has both innerspring and memory foam characteristics. This is the hybrid mattress.
Hybrid mattresses are multi-layer beds that combine memory foam, gel, latex or gel with an innerspring system. The hybrid mattress can have both the advantages and disadvantages of each bed, while still retaining the best qualities of each.
If you prefer a visual experience, this video review is from Corey Bryan, Becca Fair and Loren Bullock of Mattress Nerd’s YouTube channel. To get a comprehensive overview of Dreamcloud, you may still want to check out our article below, which compares it to some competitors.
What Makes a Hybrid Mattress Studio By Leesa Vs Dreamcloud
Hybrid mattresses typically have a handful of components. These are what makes the hybrid mattress unique. These are:
- Pillow Top: This layer is mostly optional and available only on a few hybrids. This layer is usually 1-inch in height and is sewn onto the comfort layer to add cushioning.
- Comfort Layer: This could be considered as the bed’s main layer. It is where most :your your body lies down when using the bed. To ensure comfort, this is usually made of cushioned components.
Memory foam, latex and cool-inducing Gel are some examples. This gives the comfort it needs. It is usually 3-4 inches in length.
- Support Core: This is what holds the mattress’s height, which typically stands between 7 and 8 inches. This is also where most of the pocket-wrapped coils and springs that provide spinal support are found.
In the end, this support core is where the foam and spring meet to make the hybrid mattress possible.
- Base layer: Lastly there is the base layer that is usually made up of foam. This layer provides support, padding, stability, and strength to the overall mattress shape.
Hybrid Mattresses: The Benefits
Of course, there would be no reason at all to fuse these components into one single bed if they do not provide unique properties to warrant their combination. These are just a few of the many benefits hybrid beds offer.
- They are extremely comfortable.
The hybrid mattress is comfortable no matter what material they may be made of. The comfort layer of the hybrid mattress will provide support for your body, no matter what make it may be, whether it’s memory foam, latex or cooling gel.
Even those who are more hefty in their weight might find themselves supported instead of suffocated by these foam layers (a common problem for those strictly foam-only mattresses.)
This comfort can even be amplified if you select the perfect bed type for you. You need to consider things like the firmness of your bed and its performance. You might find your perfect bed, and you could soon be sleeping on top of the world.
- They are excellent for pain relief.
When buying or choosing a bed, one of the most important things you need to consider is its effect on pain and aches. These beds work well with hybrid beds.
Because of the combination of the comfort layer with the inner springs, hybrid mattresses can offer both pressure relief and comfort in one bed. They are great for people with body pain.
- There is a bed that is right for everyone.
From softer beds that are best for a more gentle and softer comfort to a firmer bed for a more solid support, anybody can select the perfect firmness for their hybrid bed. This is perfect as not everybody finds one type of firmness comfortable.
And that is right, a bed’s firmness can add up to a bed’s overall comfort. To find the right bed for you, consult an online guid.
- Hybrid beds can be as supportive as possible.
Hybrids’ inner pockets springs support your body while you sleep in them throughout the day. They can even support the weight of heavier body parts, such as the hips and shoulders for stomach sleepers.
- They can provide a coolers sleep.
Not only do they provide support, the inner springs also keeps you cool too. The way the pocket springs are placed and arranged in the support layer of a hybrid bed allows for better airflow than most types of bed can. It is only natural that sleepers are provided with a better and cooler sleep.
While the inner springs are the ones doing the heavy lifting, other components can be used to provide this cooling sensation.
To help with the cooling effect of hybrid beds, cooling-gel material is used in some foam layers. There are also breathable covers and charcoal bamboo memory foam that are good at temperature regulation to keep sleepers cool in their sleep.
- A hybrid bed is available for you to sleep in.
The perfect mattress is for anyone, regardless of how they sleep.
No matter if they prefer to sleep in a variety of positions or to be comfortable in one place, there are excellent beds that will accommodate their needs.
- Hybrid mattresses are able to isolate motion.
Contrary to popular belief, most hybrid mattresses do not have the same “spring structure” as traditional sprung mattresses. Hybrid mattresses are made with pocket springs, whereas traditional sprung mattresses are more open-coil.
In this sense, traditional spring mattress does not isolate motion very well, oftentimes, there is a “roll-together” that is happening. This means that if one side feels pressure or movement, the other side will also feel it.
However, hybrid mattresses are different. The way the pocket springs are distributed allows it that they are separate. If one part of the bed feels pressure, the other part will not be affected.
The hybrid mattress is ideal for couples with different sleeping patterns. This is especially useful for couples who have one side that moves in bed, while the other half rests peacefully.
- You have more sleeping space
Even for beds that measure in the same dimensions, a hybrid bed will still have more “usable” space than regular foam mattresses. This is due to what they call “edge support”.
Edge support is a bed’s characteristic on how solid or how well a bed’s edges hold. Beds with not so good edge support usually fold when these edges are sit upon. It is also true in the reverse.
Foam encapsulation, which is a firmer foam encasement, is used to create edge support. This foam encapsulation provides extra sleeping space and reinforces the outer edge.
- Hybrid beds offer a more comfortable and peaceful sleep.
You will have a better night’s sleep if you have more airflow and more sleeping space. You will have the most peaceful and peaceful sleep possible when you find the right hybrid bed for your needs.
- Hybrid beds are easier to get delivered and install
Most hybrid beds are sold in what we call a “bed-in-a-box” model. It is easy to order one online. Once it arrives in the mail, you can take it into your bedroom and then open the box to roll it out.
While some beds may need to be expanded, it is usually not necessary.
- You can test them before you keep them forever
Most hybrid mattresses are sold by online or internet mattress companies. These vendors often offer sleep trials. This means that customers can try mattresses for up to 365 nights and have it returned if it is not for them.
You can even swap out your mattress for another one. It is a great option if you are shopping for a mattress especially since mattress shopping can be bit pricey and time consuming.

DreamCloud Mattress
A DreamCloud Overview
The DreamCloud mattress is a luxurious mattress at a great price. The DreamCloud mattress is a high-quality hybrid mattress that provides superior comfort without requiring you to spend a lot.
The DreamCloud mattress is composed of a cashmere-blend covering, gel-infused memory foam and individually wrapped coils. Most DreamCloud mattresses have medium-firm hybrid mattresses which allows for a nice balance of comfort, support, and bounce for sleepers.
DreamCloud Mattress Quick View
Material | Firmness | Trial Period | No Shipping Charge | Warranty | Price range |
Hybrid | Firm | 365 NIGHTS | And Returns | Lifetime | $899-$1499 |
DreamCloud Firmness & Performance
- DreamCloud Firmness
The DreamCloud mattress is firmer that the average mattress when it comes to firmness. Bear in mind that this firmness is subjective and will depend on the body weight of the person who will be using the bed.
Pocketed springs on the support layer provide the ideal firmness for most sleepers. The comfort layer is made of the most comfortable memory foam.
Most kind of sleepers will get just the enough firmness they need with the DreamCloud mattress
- DreamCloud on Body Pain
Good mattresses should provide the right balance between support and pressure relief. As providers of comfort, they should be able to provide the right amount of pain relief. Sleeping on the DreamCloud mattress feels just like that.
DreamCloud was so effective that my back felt supported while I lay flat on my stomach. The shoulder area too was feeling pretty good and I felt little to no pressure around the area
Despite this, my hips are not as comfortable for me as my shoulder and back. Don’t get me wrong, I still feel wonderful, but the feeling of comfort I got form the hip area is not as much as that on the back and shoulder. It just felt a little too firm to be honest.
Overall, I do believe that the DreamCloud Hybrid mattress provides an excellent job at relieving pressure in pain on the different body parts while sleeping.
- DreamCloud on Temperature Regulation
When it comes to temperature control, DreamCloud is among the best in the selection. Combining a gel-infused memory foam with breathable cover cools and pulls heat away from the mattress’ upper layer.
The coils that support this cooling effect in the bed provide adequate airflow. This is especially good news for sleepers who tend to get hot when they are sleeping. These features can help prevent them from becoming too uncomfortable.
That said, all these cooling is neutralized by the natural heating properties of the memory foam layer. This makes it that the DreamCloud Mattress is neither a Warm bed to sleep on and a cold bed to sleep on. The DreamCloud mattress is actually temperature neutral.
Or, as Goldilocks would put it: “Just right!”
- DreamCloud Motion Isolation
Motion isolation is the bed’s ability to isolate motion to different parts of the bed. Most hybrid mattress options are excellent in this aspect. This is because hybrid beds are so well-constructed.
In the case of the DreamCloud mattress, the quilted cover and layers of memory foam can absorb a reasonable amount of motion as people are moving on it. Beds like this are perfect for sleepers who or who have partners who move and toss around too much when they are sleeping.
That said, the motion isolation found in this mattress is not that perfect. The coiled springs, while placed in a manner that allows for a better airflow for the bed, still succumbs to the main problems found commonly in most innerspring mattresses.
Spring are naturally buoyant. The bed can feel a little bit of this bounciness. That said, most of this motion is not noticeable enough to be deemed significant.
- DreamClound on Sex
Last but not least, we can’t talk about mattress performance without mentioning its ability to support intimate times.
Most mattresses that are suitable for sex are comfortable and responsive. Couples love hybrid mattresses because they provide both comfort and responsiveness.
In the case of the DreamCloud, it rates above average when it comes to sex. It allows for movement while being comfortable for both the couple. The secret is due to the coils adding bounce to the mattress. It is easy to move in because of this.
The coils also provide an increase in airflow through the mattress, helping to dissipate body heat. Even when these coils are prone to squeaking and creaking, the whole mattress is still relatively quiet.
The DreamCloud is a great bed for sex.
DreamCloud Prices and Size
The DreamCloud mattress, a luxury hybrid mattress with a low price, is as stated in the beginning. It is therefore not surprising that it costs less than the majority of its competition. However, this lower price does not mean that it is low quality. It is actually comparable or better than most mattresses on the market.
Note: The prices in this chart include: cooling pillow, sheet set, and mattress protector.

DreamCloud Mattress versus Nectar Mattress
A Nectar Mattress Overview
Nectar is the most well-known brand of bed-in-a box mattresses. Nectar mattresses are known for their all-foam beds. They recently introduced a hybrid mattress with the Nectar Hybrid Mattress, which is their basic bed.
Their first hybrid mattress features their flagship Nectar Classic Mattress with added coils to add some great qualities to an already excellent mattress. Now how this fares with the competition is for us to find out.
Nectar Mattress Quick Look
Material | Firmness | Trial Period | No Shipping Charge | Warranty | Price range |
Hybrid | Medium Firm | 365 NIGHTS | Except HI and AK | Lifetime | $799 – $1738 |
Nectar Mattress Firmness and Performance
- Nectar Hybrid Classic Firmness
The Nectar Hybrid Classic’s firmness can be seen at a glance. If we convert this into a numerical value, the Nectar Hybrid would probably have a 6.5/10 grade. This is the industry standard grade when it comes to medium firm mattresses. Studio By Leesa Vs Dreamcloud
This is not surprising, considering that the original mattress is one of the most soft memory foam mattresses on the market.
The first two layers are made up of foam that provides the soft comfort that memory foam lovers know so well. The support layer provides firmness by allowing you to sink deeper into the mattress.
The Nectar Classic Hybrid is a great choice for those who want to have both comfort and support.
- Nectar Hybrid Classic for Body Pain
The Nectar Hybrid Classic does a great job in relieving body pain. Its softness allows for little pressure to be felt in the hips, back, shoulder, and neck, especially for back sleepers.
However, the same may not bode well for stomach and side sleepers. When lying on the side, it seems like the bed cannot hold the pressure exerted on the hip part although it is nothing serious. This could be a problem in the long-term.
Strictly side and back sleepers might do well to look at firmer mattress instead of this one.
- Nectar Hybrid Classic: Temperature Regulation
When it comes to regulating temperature, the Nectar hybrid classic seems to do well compared to all-foam mattresses.
For this Nectar model in particular, heat retention is really not an issue because the memory foam layers aren’t as thick or body-confirming as usual. The added gel infusion as well as the breathable covers also do a lot of overtime work to keep heat retention low. Studio By Leesa Vs Dreamcloud
There are also pocketed coils. The secret to its temperature regulation capabilities is the layer of pocketed coils. The layer permits more airflow than the dense polyfoam that Nectar mattresses are known for.
Hot sleepers will find the Nectar Hybrid Classic to be a great choice with its exceptional temperature regulation, especially when compared with other hybrid and all-foam models.
- Nectar Hybrid Classic – Motion Isolation
For people who share a bed with others (i.e. For people who share a bed with others (i.e., significant others or family members), it’s important that the bed has good motion isolation to ensure a peaceful and restful sleep.
Oftentimes, hybrid mattresses don’t do so well in this department. Especially given how much coiled core tends to permit greater motion transfer. So it comes as a surprise that the Nectar Hybrid Classic has above average motion isolation.
The memory foam and polyfoam layers seem to do a lot of heavy lifting here. Their dense nature absorbs the excess motion from the springs and prevents them from reaching the other side. These pocketed coils also move independently of one another.
- Nectar Hybrid Classic on Sex
The Nectar Hybrid Classic has a great rating and performs well in areas that are related to sex. Studio By Leesa Vs Dreamcloud
First of all, it has solid edge support that allows couples the most space they can use as they do the deed. It’s also strong enough to give you plenty of traction.
The comfort layer of memory also provides enough pressure-relief and eases the tension on the shoulder, knees, and hips. This is coupled with the highly responsive surface of the mattress, which allows for easy changing of positions
Lastly, the Hybrid Classic is also a relatively quiet bed. This bed is ideal for lovers.
Nectar Mattress Sizes and Prices
The Nectar Classic Hybrid’s price is competitive with other hybrids on the market. Because of the way hybrids are made, they tend to be more expensive than all foam mattresses. The Nectar Hybrid Classic has a price tag that is comparable to all-foam mattresses.
Sizes | Dimensions | Height | Weight | Price |
Twin | 38″ x75″ | 12″ | 67 lbs. | $799 |
Twin XL | 38″ x80″ | 12″ | 70 lbs. | $869 |
Full | 54″ x 75″. | 12″ | 90 lbs. | $1099 |
Queen | 60″ x 80″ | 12″ | 105 lbs. | $1199 |
King | 76″ x80″ | 12″ | 128 lbs. | $1,449 |
Cal King | 72″ x 64″ | 12″ | 127 lbs. | $1,449 |
Split King | 38″ x 80″ | 12″ | 70 lbs. | $1,738 |
Nectar mattress Recommendations
The Nectar Classic Hybrid is Recommended For:
- Back sleepers will get a lot of mileage with the Nectar Classic Hybrid especially with a lot of features that fit these kinds of sleepers.
- Couples who appreciate a solid edge support, cooling components as well as excellent motion isolation properties.
- For those who sleep on their sides, the bed will be more comfortable than traditional hybrid mattresses.
The Nectar Classic Hybrid is Not Recommended For:
- Strict stomach sleepers, especially those on the heavier side will find the Nectar Hybrid Mattress too soft. The mattress might not support their posture and could cause problems in the long-term.
- All-foam mattress lovers might prefer the Flagship Nectar compared to this hybrid bed.

DreamCloud versus Saatva
A Saatva Mattress Overview
Saatva is another name you will often hear when searching for bed-in-a box brands. They are known for luxury and higher-end mattresses. The Zenhaven, an all-latex mattress, is one of their most popular mattresses. Studio By Leesa Vs Dreamcloud
In the hybrid mattress department, Saatva’s first foray is the aptly named Saatva latex Hybrid Mattress. It is composed of an organic cotton cover, thick layer of Talalay latex, and other high quality materials.
In terms of dimensions, The Saatva Latex Hybrid measures 12 inches thick with a medium feel. You can find it in all sizes and at the right price.
Are you interested in the Saatva Latex Mattress? Read on.
Saatva Mattress Quick View
Material | Firmness | Trial Period | Free Shipping | Warranty | Price range |
Latex hybrid | Medium Firm | 365 NIghts | White Glove Delivery | Lifetime | $1,245 – $2,830 |
Saatva Mattress Firmness & Performance
- Saatva Mattress Firmness
The Saatva Latex Hybrid is a firm selection on the market in terms of firmness. The Saatva Latex Hybrid will score about 7.5 on a scale of 10 firmness.
This measurement allows us to classify the Saatva Mattress Hybrid as a medium-firm mattress. This body type is not uncommon and it can be difficult to find a mattress that supports their back.
However, remember that firmness is subjective. WHat is irm for others might not be firm to you. You should consider more than just the firmness of a mattress or bed when choosing one.
- Saatva Mattress on Body Pain
How a mattress handles pressure around your body can give you an indication of how well it relieves pain when you are sleeping on it. In the case of the Saatva Hybrid Mattress, it seems to offer very good pressure relief for people between 130 to 230 pounds.
For heavier people, the Saatva mattress provides enough support. The latex comfort layer offers a cushioning effect for side sleepers, and can help alleviate pain in the hips and shoulders. The mattress also promotes spine alignment which is plus in my book. Studio By Leesa Vs Dreamcloud
That said, it seems like the same is not true for people in different weight classes. Lighter people may find the Saatva Latex Hybrid too hard and too stiff. This is particularly true for side sleepers.
The Saatva Hybrid mattress seems to have a great effect on the back region of the body. We’ve already discussed how the Saatva accommodates side sleepers as well as shoulder relief.
This brings us to the hips, and hip pain generally. Saatva Mattress can support the hip area, and align the hips and shoulders for stomach and back sleepers. Side sleepers with hip pain may need to have a firmer mattress that provides more support.
- Saatva Mattress on Temperature Regulation
The Saatva Hybrid Mattress regulates temperature naturally. It will come to no surprise that the mattress will sleep cool. The secret to this comes from the way the mattress is manufactured.
Latex is already naturally cooling. Latex does not retain body heat in the same way as foam. However, the Saatva Mattress goes beyond by making the latex comfort layer ventilated with small holes. This allows for hair to flow through the bed while you sleep.
Also, the wool fire barrier and organic cotton cover are made with breathability in view. This is combined with the coil system to create a bed that can maintain a cool core temperature. Studio By Leesa Vs Dreamcloud
- Saatva Mattress on Motion Isolation
Motion isolation is a common problem for hybrid mattresses. Most hybrid mattresses will either do an adequate job or not perform as well. This is the case with the Saatva Latex Hybrid Mattress.
Looking at the Saatva Latex Hybrid Mattress, it has a really high motion transfer. This is because of its make. It is a combination the latex material with the pocketed coils that gives it its bounciness
As good as the Saatva latex hybrid mattress is, it would not be good for couples who tend to move a lot in bed. There will be constant disturbance in your sleep especially if you are sleeping with someone who tends to move around a lot.
- Saatva Mattress on Sex
The Saatva Latex Hybrid Mattress makes a great bed for sex. The latex build offers bounce and responsiveness . Couples will not feel trapped in the mattress due to this level of bounce.
The mattress is also good at allowing movement which gives freedom to the couple in their intimate moments. In terms of traction, the latex conforms a bit to your shape, which allows the couple to maintain one position for longer periods of time. Studio By Leesa Vs Dreamcloud
One thing that is not great about the Saatva in regards to sex? The coils are often too loud, which can be a little distracting.
Saatva Mattress Sizes and Prices
The Saatva Latex Hybrid may seem more expensive than the previous mattress, but it is actually less expensive. However, this actually is on par with the average prices of similarly made hybrid mattresses.
Latex beds are not really cheap, and this is the crux of Saatva’s higher price.
Sizes | Dimensions | Height | Weight | Price |
Twin | 38″ x 75″ | 12″ | 70 lbs. | $1,245 |
Twin XL | 38″ x80″ | 12″ | 85 lbs. | $1,415 |
Full | 54″ x 75″ | 12″ | 100 lbs. | $1,845 |
Queen | 60″ x80″ | 12″ | 120 lbs. | $2,045 |
King | 76″ x80″ | 12″ | 150 lbs. | $2,445 |
Cal King | 72″ x 84″ | 12″ | 148 lbs. | $2,445 |
Split King | (2) 36″ x80″ | 12″ | 170 lbs. | $2,830 |
Saatva Mattress Recommendations
The Saatva Latex Hybrid is Recommended For:
- People who are fans of an eco-friendly mattress and mattresses that are build from organic materials.
- People who sleep hot need a bed that is able to cool them down. These people will appreciate the Saatva’s cooling abilities.
- These are stomach sleepers who seek a bed that offers more support.
- People who sleep on a responsive mattress prefer something that conforms to their bodies but doesn’t sink too much.
- Shoppers who do want a mattress assembled for themselves, not by themselves.
The Saatva Latex Hybrid should not be used for:
- Sleepers looking for luxury hybrid mattress at a lower or a value price
- People looking for the sinking feeling and an overall slower-moving mattress
- Side sleepers who are strict and need support while they sleep on their side all night
DreamCloud versus Purple
A Purple Mattress Overview
Purple Mattress is another well-known Internet mattress company. Purple Mattress is well-known for its Hyper-Elastic Polymer purple grid, which is used in all of their mattresses.
Now in the hybrid department, they have come out with the Purple Hybrid and the Purple Hybrid premier mattresses. They create a hybrid comfort experience by using their Purple grid and adding layers of springy pocketsed coils. Studio By Leesa Vs Dreamcloud
For the purpose of this article, we will be looking at the Purple Hybrid.
Purple Mattress Quick Look
Material | Firmness | Trial Period | No Shipping Charge | Warranty | Price range |
Hybrid | Medium firm | 100 Nights | Yes | 10-years | $2,499 – $4,998 |
Purple Mattress Firmness & Performance
- Purple Mattress Firmness
Due to the unique top layer, it is difficult to pinpoint the Purple Hybrid’s exact position on the firmness scale. Some people find it soft, while some place it at a medium firm.
It might be anywhere from 6.5 to 7. If you put it on a scale 1-10, with 1 being the most softest, With that said, it is a good choice for most people regardless of their sleeping style or body type.
Aside from firmness, this would be a good place to mention how the Purple Mattress feels. Given the curious construction of its top layer, many people will find the top layer pretty interesting.
To describe it objectively, this has a gel-like feel that is also very stretchy and soft. Such a feeling is of course going to be polarizing as some sleepers will prefer the more traditional innerspring or memory foam beds.
In my experience, it takes a few nights of sleeping in the mattress before getting used to the top layer but it does grow on you. You can feel the bed compressing and conforming to your body’s shape.
This might sound uncomfortable, but it really isn’t. It is actually very comfortable, and you feel like you’re floating.
- Purple Mattress for Body Pain
The Purple Hybrid mattress contours very well to the body of the sleeper, as stated above. The layer that distributes the weight of the sleeper more evenly over the mattress helps to relieve pressure and dissipate body pain.
It is also very easy for the Purple Grid to buckle when pressure is applied. The firm feel then helps the mattress remain supportive. Side sleepers will find this a good thing as it allows their hips to sink in and promotes spinal alignment.
This pressure relief experience is unique because, unlike memory foam, the mattress feels “floating” instead of being hugged.
- Purple Mattress on Temperature Regulation
Controlling temperature and keeping it neutral is among Purple Hybrid Mattresses’ edge against the competition.
Due to the unique design of the Purple Hybrid, it doesn’t succumb to the common problem most foam comfort layers have of trapping heat against a sleepers body. Purple Hybrid allows heat to escape, keeping sleepers cool all night.
The Purple mattress also has a breathable cover which allows significant airflow into the mattress. The open air channels allow heat to escape from the body.
The coil core also bring in additional air which cools the body and pulls heat farther away from the sleeper. Studio By Leesa Vs Dreamcloud
- Purple Mattress for Motion Isolation
The Purple Hybrid mattress has an overall average motion isolation. There is a perfect explanation to these phenomena however.
Purple Grid, which is located in the comfort layer of your mattress, helps to reduce motion. It is specifically designed to prevent motion from spreading across the mattress.
This is actually neutralized by the spring’s bounciness. In fact, the coils are so bouncy that it can be felt until the top layer of the bed. This can make it difficult to get a good night of sleep.
As such, the Purple mattress really has a neutral effect on motion isolation. People sharing a bed will feel the motions of others but not as distracting. But, it is possible to feel large movements like getting in and out of bed.
Overall, for people who are easily disturbed by sudden movement and want peaceful sleep, I could not say I recommend it to those people
- Purple Mattress for Sex
The Purple Hybrd mattress is a great choice for couples who are looking to have sex. This is standard with hybrid mattresses.
Most foam mattress are beneficial to sex as they usually provide gooud bounce. It provides a good response while the couple is doing their thing. The contouring foam also helps create traction while providing enough comfort for the body in the comfort layer.
Of course, this bouncines is because of the bed’s inner coil. These coils provide enough support to the bed’s edges, allowing for greater usable space.
Purple Mattress Prices and Sizes
Purple Hybrid mattresses are very affordable for hybrid mattresses. It will be more expensive than the standard Purple Hybrid mattress. The Purple hybrid doesn’t have a twin-sized bed. Rather, the smallest bed you can get for the Purple Hybrid is their Twin XL bed.
Sizes | Dimensions | Height | Weight | Price |
Twin | N/A | N/A | N/A | N/A |
Twin XL | 38″ x80″ | 12″ | 91 lbs. | $2,499 |
Full | 54″ x 76″ | 12″ | 125 lbs. | $2,699 |
Queen | 60″ x80″ | 12″ | 145 lbs. | $3,599 |
King | 76″ x80″ | 12″ | 176 lbs. | $3,599 |
Cal King | 72″ x 84″ | 12″ | 176 lbs. | $3,599 |
Split King | 36″ x 80″ (2pcs) | 12″ | 91 lbs (2 pcs). | $4,998 |

DreamCloud versus Casper
A Casper Overview
Casper mattress was established in 2014. Casper mattress was founded in 2014. Since being established, they have produced a lot of mattress models.
Casper Original is their flagship model, an all-foam version. The Casper Original Hybrid, which has a coil core, was also improved. They also offer luxury hybrid mattresses, including the Wave Hybrid or the Nova Hybrid.
In this review, we will be talking about their Original hybrid. The original hybrid is composed of three layers of Casper foam, but the coil support layer was replaced by the polyfoam core. This tiny change in construction makes a big difference in the overall performance of the bed.
Casper Mattress Quick View
Material | Firmness | Trial Period | No Shipping Charge | Warranty | Price range |
Hybrid | Medium firm | 100 Nights | Yes | Limited 10-year warranty | $695 – $1,495 |
Casper Mattress Firmness and Performance
- Casper Mattress Firmness
The Casper mattress iis easy to identify as a medium firm mattress if you llie down in it for a bit. It scores a 6.5 on a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being the softest and 10 the firmest.
It is not necessarily a bad thing. Most hybrid beds in competition fall within this range. It strikes a good balance between being supportive as well as relieving pressure. Of course, this balance is thanks to a combination of foams and the pocketed coils that make up the bed.
The bed allows just enough softness to alleviate tension at the relevant parts of the shoulder and hips without them having to dip out of alignment from the rest of the body.
This medium firmness also works in the favor of the bed as there are a lot of sleepers who prefer this firmness level.
- Casper Mattress on Body Pain
The Casper Hybrid offers greater pressure relief than other hybrid models. This is thanks to the original Casper mattress which already has a good reputation in relieving pressure.
Just as with the original Casper Mattress, it uses a two-layer comfort system that cradles the sleeper and distributes their weight to relieve pressure points.
Then there is the zoned memory foam layer which reinforces the midsection of the mattress for added support especially in the sleeper’s midsection area. Overall, this gives the sleeper better contouring and support while also making sure of the spine alignment.
- Casper Mattress Temperature Regulation
It’s well-known that hybrid mattresses have more airflow than their foam counterparts. This is mostly thanks to the coiled springs in the support layer that adds much needed airflow to “hotter” bed models.
The Casper Hybrid is no exception. It has a perforated polyfoam top layer that conforms to the sleeper’s body while allowing airflow to escape and preventing it from being trapped.
Then there is a layer of zoned memory foam that countrous without trapping as much heat as most high-density memory foams. Furthermore, there is the aforementioned council support layer that allows air to circulate easily. Studio By Leesa Vs Dreamcloud
This hybrid mattress is cool to lay down on.
- Casper Mattress on Motion Isolation
The Casper Hybrid mattress is very motion-isolating. This bed is almost identical to the original foam model. Since that model was particularly good at preventing movement from reverberating across the bed, this bed is good at it too.
A two-layer comfort system is included in the bed. It absorbs vibrations and movement to prevent them from travelling across the surface. The top layer of polyfoam has a slight bounce and reduces motion transfer. The memory foam layer absorbs motion.
Overall, this strong motion isolation does a huge part in helping reduce nighttime disturbances especially with bedmates who tend to move around the mattress. This mattress might be the right choice for light sleepers or those who wake up frequently.
- Casper Mattress on Sex
Compared to many all-foam models, the Casper Hybrid mattress is more conductive to sexual activities. The Casper Hybrid is not as conductive to sexual activities as other hybrid models.
Sadly, the Casper mattress lacks some bounce and springiness that couples often expect in most hybrid and inner spring models.
All hope is not lost though as the close conforming nature of the Casper Hybrid does improve traction. The Casper Hybrid mattress is virtually silent which reduces distractions and makes it ideal for secretly falling in love.
Casper Mattress Prices and Sizes
Casper Hybrid mattresses are priced lower than the average quality hybrid model. This makes it among the few hybrid models that is affordable at a value. This makes it an attractive option for budget-minded buyers as it’s a luxurious mattress at a very affordable price.

WinkBed Mattress Firmness and Performance
- WinkBed Mattress Firmness
We can’t talk about the firmness of the WinkBed if we do not acknowledge the fact that the brand offers three different firmness levels. There are three firmness levels: Softer, Luxury Firm (which they most often choose), Firmer, and Plus
That said, all of these mattresses share the same innerspring or pillowtop feel. If we put all these firmness levels in a scale of 1 to 10, each firmness level would fall into the following positions: Softer (4/10) Luxury FIrm 6/10) ,Firm (7/10), and Plus (8/10)
Despite this, firmness can still vary from one person to the next. There are a lot of factors that determine the firmness of your choice. Good guides should provide information that can help customers make their decisions.
As a quick recommendations, choose the following firmness option if you are:
If you are a side sleeper, it is better to choose softer options.
Luxury firm, if you prefer sleeping in your back or you are a lightweight stomach sleeper.
If you’re a stomach sleeper, it will be more firm.
Plus if your weight is more than 300 pounds.
Aside from that, look at your body weight as a combination of your sleeping habits to pinpoint the best mattress firmness for you.
- WinkBed Mattress on Body Pain
The WinkBed can provide pressure relief and body pain relief. It is a hybrid model that has contours that can be used to relieve pressure points.
For the first three versions of the mattress, (Softer, Luxury Firm, and Firmer) they have a pillow top and a layer of polyfoam to cradle the sleeper. This cover helps redistribute the sleepers body weight and relieves the overall pressure from the body.
The PLUS version has a polyfoam layer and latex layer for contouring. They divide the work on pressure relief: The latex distributes the body’s weight over a larger surface area, while the polyfoam cushions pressure points.
Some sleepers feel that sleeping in latex creates a feel of floating from the bed while preventing a pressure buildup.
Furthermore, al the firmness options have their coil core zoned out. This allows for more targeted support and less risk of the hips of the sleeper sinking in. This is good for keeping the spring aligned.
- WinkBed Mattress on Temperature Regulation
The WinkBed Mattress has the same cool and breathable bed characteristics as other hybrid mattresses. They are ideal for those who sleep hot all night.
All WinkBed mattresses come with a Tencel Cover, which is a thicker material that draws away from the body to provide cooler sleep. Studio By Leesa Vs Dreamcloud
The pillow tops of the first three versions are made up of a gel-infused polyfoam, which redistributes boddy heavy instead of trapping it. Meanwhile, the PLUS version uses a layer of polyfoam and a layer of latex.
Polyfoam is more breathable that memory foam and won’t trap heat. The latex’s open-cell structure makes it possible for air circulation.
Lastly, the coil core allows for more air circulation which adds more to the cooling mattress.
- WinkBed Mattress on Motion Isolation
Judging the WinkBed in terms of motion isolation is kind of tricky. With different firmness versions, the bed in turn will differ in their motion isolation values.
That said, all versions have better motion isolation than other hybrid models in the market. This category is particularly well-suited for the Softest option.
The Softer, Luxury Firm, or Firmer options feature Euro-style pillow tops made with multiple layers of polyfoam. These are the secret to the beds great motion isolation features. They reduce the amount of vibrations that travel across the surface of the mattress.
The coils also move independently which makes it hard for vibrations to travel. That said, the Softer version also absorbs more motion than the other firmness because of its soft feel as well as an added transition layer of polyfoam.
The PLUS version has a poly foam comfort layer and latex comfort layers. However, it does not absorb as much motion as the Softer.
The coil cores have been designed in such a way that the mattress still has some bounce but restricts motion. Combine that with the mattress’ comfort system which is substantial enough to minimize all motion in the bed.
- WinkBed Mattress on Sex
Each of the four mattress versions offer advantages for couples. They are however not all the same. Among the four versions however, the WinkBed Mattress PLUS has the best performance as a bed for sex. Studio By Leesa Vs Dreamcloud
It swaps out the second foam layer with a latex layer that is quite responsive. This makes movement in changing positions easier.
On the opposite side, the the Softer option has the least benefits when it comes to sex. Individuals sink in more, making it harder to change position. That said, it still is conductive to sex due to the bouncy nature of the WinkBed Mattress.
WinkBed Mattress Prices and Sizes
Surprisingly, despite being a luxury hybrid model, the WinkBed Mattress comes at a lower price than the average hybrid model. It is an exceptional value for shoppers as it is manufactured from mostly high-quality materials.
Another surprising thing with this mattress is that it the three versions of Softer, Luxury Firm, and Firmer version are priced the same. The PLUS option is available at an additional cost.

Puffy vs DreamCloud
A Puffy Overview
Puffy Mattress is a highly-rated mattress brand that stands with the best. They are mostly known for their accommodating feel, price and firmness level. Currently, they produce three mattresses: the Puffy, The Puffy Lux Hybrid, and the Puffy Royal hybrid.
Their hybrid mattress has coil-boised support systems. The focus of this section, which is the Lux Hybrid, represents a good middle ground for shoppers looking for extra features at a more affordable price. Studio By Leesa Vs Dreamcloud
Six layers make up the Lux Hybrid. They were designed to provide contouring and adaptive support. These parts are expected to score high on this mattress.
Puffy Mattress Quick View
Material | Firmness | Trial Period | No Shipping Charge | Warranty | Price Range |
Hybrid | Medium firm | 101 Nights | Yes | Lifetime | $1,149 – $1,699 |
Puffy Mattress Firmness and Performance
- Puffy Mattress Firmness
The medium firmness of the Puffy Mattress is moderate. This can be converted to a 6.5/10 using numerical ratings.
Even though the mattress has springs at the bottom, the comfort layers still feel slow moving. People looking for soft beds may find this mattress just right. The bed doesn’t need to be soft in order to provide the support it needs.
The soft feel makes Puffy Lux a must want for back and side sleepers. It has just enough balance of softness and support which alleviate pain on most pressure points found in the body.
- Puffy Mattress on Body Pain
In terms of pressure relief, the Puffy Lux Hybrids has thick layers of memory foam and polyfoam that gets the job done.
The memory foam layer is known for its pressure relieving characteristics. They contour the body and cushion the hips and shoulders to help keep the body, especially the spine aligned. Studio By Leesa Vs Dreamcloud
That said, if the Puffy mattress was all “puff” and cushion, it wouldn’t be a totally good mattress. Good thing this hybrid mattress has just enough support to provide a good balance of comfort and support.
A firmer mattress may be preferred by heavier sleepers, particularly those who weigh more than 230 lbs.
- Temperature Regulation Puffy Mattress
Since the basis of the Puffy Lux Hybrid mattress was a close-conforming memory foam, it is with no surprise that the bed does not handle temperature well. In fact, this is the very weakness of the Puffy Mattress.
In fact, it is one of the few Hybrid mattresses that hot sleepers should avoid.
Memory foam traps heat, and although the Puffy Lux hybrid contains gel infusions to decrease heat retention, they are not sufficient to neutralize the bed’s heat.
- Puffy Mattress for Motion Isolation
Although it is not very good at controlling temperature, the Puffy Lux hybrid does a great job at keeping motion away. Because of the foam in the mattress, motion transfer across the surface is difficult because it’s very hard to feel.
That said, it still transfers some motion given its coil support base, however, the foam still wins over these vibrations and motions.
Hence, the Puffy Lux Hybrid is a perfect bed for sensitive sleepers who are looking for a less bouncy hybrid mattress.
- Puffy Mattress for Sex
Having sex on the Puffy mattress is not really conducive. Some might find it disappointing. Good for sex mattresses and beds are those that have good bounce and response. Studio By Leesa Vs Dreamcloud
The Puffy Mattress has none of this.
THe Puffy Lux Hybrid is slow to return to its original shape. This makes the people using the mattress feel stuck especially when shifting positions or even getting out of bed.
The mattress’s pocketed coils, just like the airflow issues, are not sufficient to allow for good sex.
Puffy Mattress Prices and Sizes
The Puffy Lux Hybrid is a mattress that falls between the middle and lower end of the market. As such, it is a good option for those budget-conscious shoppers in the market. You can also find it in six standard sizes.
Sizes | Dimensions | Height | Weight | Price |
Twin | 39″ x 75″. | 12″ | 45 lbs. | $1,149 |
Twin XL | 39″ x 80″ | 12″ | 49 lbs. | $1,199 |

- People who love beds that feel soft, airy, and full of memory foam.

- People who are looking for a luxury hybrid mattress at a lower price.

- Shoppers searching for a bed under $1,000
- People who are looking for firmer mattresses, particularly heavier sleepers, and those who prefer to sleep on their stomachs.
- People who are looking for a cooler mattress. The Puffy Lux Hybrid hybrid is an uncommon example of a hybrid mattress with poor temperature regulation. Studio By Leesa Vs Dreamcloud
DreamCloud versus Tempurpedic
A Tempurpedic Overview
The folks at Tempurpedic are some of the pioneers when it comes to mattress technology. They were created by NASA scientists in 1992. Their TEMPUR foam is well known to adjust to body pressure and provide above average cushioning and contouring.
Although they have produced many mattress models over the years, this article will focus on the TEMPUR Cloud Hybrid. It offers a similar feel to the all-foam TEMPUR Cloud mattress. This mattress has more than 1,000 coils in the support core.
How this affects the overall quality of the mattress. Read below to find out.
Tempurpedic Mattress Quick View
Material | Firmness | Trial Period | Free Shipping | Warranty | Price range |
Hybrid | Medium | 90 Nights | Yes | 10-years | $1,699 – $3,398 |
Tempurpedic Mattress Firmness and Performance
- Firmness of Tempurpedic Mattresses
Medium firmness is the TEMPUR Cloud hybrid mattress. Though some might argue that it is at a medium firm. It is subjective and the individual’s perception of firmness will determine how it feels. Bigger persons will find it softer, while smaller person, feel the opposite.
The top layer of the hybrid mattress offers a lot of comfort and support. Tempurpedic uses a high density type of foam as the top layer of its mattress. It doesn’t necessarily mean it can’t support your body. Rather surprisingly, it is able to hold the sleeper’s body up.
The firmness of the mattress provides a comfortable and supportive back sleep experience. This mattress is very contoured and molds to the body for a great night’s sleep.
- Tempurpedic Mattress on Body Pain
This mattress contours to the body perfectly, as we mentioned. We didn’t mention that the mattress can also be very supportive of the spine, especially in high-pressure areas like the hips or shoulders.
These characteristics is what makes the TEMPUR-cloud hybrid excellent in relieving body pain in these parts as well as keeping spinal alignment throughout the bed’s use.
The combination of the pressure-reducing foams and the responsive coils encourages side sleepers with different bodies to have a good posture.
This mattress will provide adequate support and pressure relief for stomach and back sleepers with lighter bodies.
- Temperature Regulation and Tempurpedic Mattress
Now, Tempurpedic is known for its advances in memory foam technology. In fact, they are a pioneer at it. It seems that this technology is not able to control temperature.
This problem finds itself affecting the TEMPUR-cloud Hybrid mattress. Since memory foam is characteristically known for trapping and absorbing heat, expect this bed to not be a cool bed to sleep on. Studio By Leesa Vs Dreamcloud
This is all. Memory foam’s characteristics of cradling the body and it tendency to trap heat leads to even great heat retention.
The only cooling it gets is probably the coils in the support core which promote airflow, they are not enough to combat the heat retention to even just neutralize this hybrid bed’s heat, let alone cool it down.
People who really love the memory foam of TEMPUR pedic will find that they can only have their bedroom air conditioner at maximum so they can sleep cool.
- Tempurpedic Mattress on Motion Isolation
Many foam beds are very motion-isolating. This is also true for TEMPUR cloud hybrid bed. In fact, it is not only good at it, it is excellent at it.
Two layers of TEMPUR memory foam are incorporated into the bed to absorb all movement. It is almost impossible to feel your partner’s movements in sleep.
- Tempurpedic Mattress on Sex
The TEMPUR-cloud hybrid is just decent bed to have sex in. It’s not too bad and it’s not too good.
The memory foam is not entirely bouncy and responsive, however, the coils in the support layer does compensate for this and provide just enough oomph during sexy time.
Besides that, the bed is relatively quiet, so there is no annoying squeaky noises while having sex. Except, of course, if participants choose to do it.
Prices and sizes of Tempurpedic Mattresses
Those who are already a patron of Tempurpedic mattresses will find that the TEMPUR-cloud hybrid mattress is as affordable as the regular TEMPUR-cloud mattress. It is actually one of the most affordable beds in TEMPUrR’s range. Studio By Leesa Vs Dreamcloud
This makes the TEMPUR cloud hybrid a moderately-priced hybrid bed.

DreamCloud versus Helix
A Helix Overview
Helix is a direct-to-consumer mattress company. It is well-known for its sleep quiz that helps customers find the best mattress based on what they answer on the said quiz. These questions usually involve a customer’s weight, sleeping position, and personal preference.
Helix offers seven main models in terms of product. These are Helix Sunset and Helix Moonlight, which are the softest models. There is also the Helix Midnight and Helix Dusk, which are medium-sized models. The Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn are their most popular models.
Each model comes in two types: a Luxe version and a normal version. The Luxe version usually includes an optional zoned lumbar support to the coil system for a better spinal alignment. It also has a quilted top pillow for a plush feeling. This upgrade increases the warranty to 15 years instead of 10.
This section will focus on the Helix Midnight hybrid model, which is a medium-sized model. We will see how it compares to its competitors and whether it lives up to its hype.
Helix Mattress Quick View
Material | Firmness | Trial Period | Free Shipping | Warranty | Price Range |
Hybrid | Medium firm to firm | 100 Nights | Yes | 10-years | $799 – $2,499 |
Helix Mattress Firmness & Performance
- Helix Mattress Firmness
The Helix Midnight model is one of Helix’s medium firmness mattresses. That said, a lof of sleepers find this bed at a medium-firm to medium-soft. Of course, this firmness is subjective and has to do with the sleeper’s weight and overall body type.
In terms of feel, the model has a nice bouncy feel thanks mostly to its hybrid construction. As such it is easy to move and roll around on. This bed is a great combination of comfort and support. Studio By Leesa Vs Dreamcloud
- Helix Mattress on Body Pain
The Helix midnight is a great choice for pressure relief and body pain. Its plusher surfaces are what does the heavy lifting when it comes to pressure relief.
For those who do not have enough pressure relief, the optional Luxe version does a better job thanks to the addition that adds more support and pressure relief to the back area.
It strikes a great balance between support and pressure relief. Side sleepers may find it too soft, and might opt for firmer models.
- Helix Mattress on Temperature Regulation
The Helix Midnight mattress is temperature neutral in terms of temperature regulation.
The main reason for this is the memory foam material that we all know by now, to sleep hot and retain said heat all throughout the night. The coil cores are great at keeping airflow consistent.
The mattress’ heat retention is therefore neutralized and maintained at a balanced state. The Helix Midnight without the core coil layer would likely be another hot mattress.
- Helix Mattress Motion Isolation
The Helix Midnight is a good choice for motion isolation. It does have a layer of memory foam that dampens movement and slows down motion from moving across the surface.
However, it also has a responsive and bouncy coil layer that facilitates movement. Light sleepers can be disturbed easily. But, large movements can disrupt sleep.
- Helix Mattress for Sex
The Helix Mattress is very good at handling sex. It strikes a good balance of being responsive while being soft and comfortable too. Hence, it is not too restrictive, while it is also not too bouncy.
The Helix Midnight doesn’t have enough edge support so couples won’t be able use the entire surface of the bed for their pleasure. It does not mean that they won’t be enjoying having sex on this mattress though. Studio By Leesa Vs Dreamcloud
Helix Mattress Sizes and Prices
In terms of pricing, the Helix mattress is competitively priced. Although it costs less than most hybrid mattresses, the Helix mattress is still affordable enough to be considered a value model. For those with decent enough paycheck, they will find the Helix mattresses affordable.
